Wyoming CPA Requirements for the CPA Exam and License
According to the Wyoming CPA requirements, the Wyoming State Board allows the state’s residents and workers to apply for the CPA Exam. Plus, Wyoming follows the 150-hour rule, so you will need to fulfill this CPA education requirement before you can apply for the license.
Wyoming CPA Requirements
1. Education Requirements to Sit for the CPA Exam
A candidate is required to fulfill the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- 150 credit hours.
- Accounting course requirement: 24 semester hours (upper division).
- Business course requirement: 24 semester hours.
2. Additional Wyoming CPA Requirements for the CPA License
Education
- No additional requirements.
Work Experience
- 1 year of full-time experience in public accounting.
- The experience must be verified by an active CPA licensee. It does not indicate that the experience has to be supervised by a CPA (but please double check with Board for the latest interpretation).
Ethics Qualifications
- Pass the CPA ethics exam by AICPA.
3. Wyoming CPA Requirements on Residency & Age
- US citizenship is not required
- Candidate needs to be resident of WY or regularly employed in WY or graduate of University of Wyoming
- Minimum age: 18
- To sit for the CPA Exam, candidates must have a Wyoming driver’s license OR have a current Wyoming home address OR be employed in Wyoming
4. CPA Exam Fees in Wyoming
- Initial application fee for the CPA Exam: $110
- Subsequent application fee (if you fail a CPA Exam section): $50
- CPA Exam section fees (per section): $262.64
5. Continuing Education
