Vermont CPA CPE requirementsTo maintain an active CPA license in Vermont, certified public accountants have to fulfill a CPE requirement on a biannual basis.

Vermont CPA CPE Requirements

In Vermont, CPAs need 80 hours of continuing education by the end of every 2-year reporting period.

Specific Requirements

  • At least 8 hours of accounting/auditing
  • At least 4 hours of ethics
  • At least 40 hours each year
  • A maximum of 50% of hours for being an instructor or speaker
  • A maximum of 25% of hours for authoring a published book or article (more with board approval)
  • Carry forwards are allowed to the next reporting year, up to 10 CPE hours. Please note that accounting, auditing, and ethics courses cannot be carried forward.
