Connecticut CPA CPE requirementsTo maintain an active status, all CPA licensee in Connecticut have to fulfill the CPA CPE requirement on a annual basis.

Connecticut CPA CPE Requirements

The CPE credits have to be accumulated on June 30, but you don’t need to report until December 31. Reporting has to be done on an annual basis.

Within each year, the CPAs registered in Connecticut should fulfill at least 40 hours of accounting continuing education.

You can conveniently report your CPE online here from November 1 of each year. If you prefer to mail a form instead, the license renewal form can be downloaded online from the CT State Board website.

Specific Requirements

  • You can take more than 40 hours of CPE courses and can carry forward up to 20 hours to next year
  • Among the 40 hours, a maximum of 24 hours can be done via self-study
  • Ethics CPE: 4 hours
