To maintain an active CPA license in WV, certified public accountants must fulfill the West Virginia CPA CPE requirement over a rolling 3-year period.

West Virginia CPA CPE Requirements

120 CPE credits have to be accumulated upon the renewal date, which is Jun 30. The reporting period is Jan 1 to Dec 31 over a rolling 3-year period.

What is needed

  • At least 20 hours per year (recommended 40 hours per year)
  • 4 hours of state-specific ethics
  • There are some restrictions if you plan to count your role as an instructor, presenter or author as CPE requirement. Please refer to the CPE info link below for details.
