Nebraska CPA CPE requirementsTo maintain an active CPA license in Nebraska, certified public accountants have to fulfill the CPE requirement on a biennial basis.

Nebraska CPA CPE Requirements

The CPE credits have to be accumulated on the December 31, and reported by January 31. The counting is done every 2 years.

Within these 2 years, the CPAs registered in Nebraska should fulfill at least 80 hours of accounting continuing education.

Specific Requirements

  • At least 4 hours of ethics
  • It is recommended (but not required) that:
    • No more than 30% of course should be on personal development
    • Public accountants to take 40% of total CPE courses in accounting auditing
  • No more than 50% of course should be self-studies
  • Licensees are encouraged to have the course pre-approved by filling out a form (see CPE page link below)
