Nebraska CPA CPE requirementsTo maintain an active CPA license in Nebraska, certified public accountants have to fulfill a CPE requirement on a biennial basis.

Nebraska CPA CPE Requirements

In Nebraska, CPAs need 80 hours of continuing education every 2 years that must be accumulated by December 31 and reported by January 31.

Specific Requirements

  • At least 4 hours of ethics
  • It is recommended (but not required) that:
    • No more than 30% of courses should be on personal development
    • Public accountants should take 40% of total CPE courses in accounting auditing
  • No more than 50% of courses should be self-study programs
  • Licensees are encouraged to have CPE courses pre-approved by filling out a form available on the board website (see CPE page link below)
