Iowa CPA CPE Requirements and Courses

Iowa cpa exam requirementsTo maintain an active CPA license in Iowa, certified public accountants have to fulfill the CPE requirement on a triennial basis.

Here is a summary for your reference:

Iowa CPA CPE Requirements

The CPE credits have to be accumulated during a reporting period, which ends on Jun 30. Effective 2013 licensee can self-select the reporting date.

Please note that a renewal form will be mailed to your address around May 15. You’ve got to remember the renewal because there is no grace period to practice on an expired license.

Within these 3 years, the CPAs registered in IA should fulfill at least 120 hours of accounting continuing education.

Specific Requirements

  • 50% (i.e. 60 hours) can be claimed for formal self-study. Please note the webinars are considered “interactive” and thus not part of self-study course.
