Foundation for International ServicesFoundation for International Services (FIS) has been a leading provider of international document services since 1978.

The company provides foreign credential evaluations and professional translations for both individuals and organizations.

FIS is a member of NACES.

Cons

  • Expensive – starting from $225 for one-month service
  • Online application tracking service not available

Submission Details

  • Original documents are preferred, but not required. FIS will accept clear, legible photocopies of educational documents, but reserves the right to request either original or certified copies.
  • For photocopies, there will be a disclaimer in the report stating that the documents we saw were not the original documents but that they were photocopies*
  • Documents not issued in English must be accompanied by English translations, preferably American Translators Association (ATA) certified translations.
  • Translation services may be obtained through the FIS Translation Department for an additional fee ($100 and up).

* Most state boards require original copies or at least a verification of certified photocopies by the evaluation agency. I recommend that you submit the original copy for the purpose of CPA exam application.

  • Does not specify, but if 1-month is considered a rush service, it will probably take longer than that.
