Becker AI Chatbot: Is NEWT Revolutionizing CPA Study Sessions?

The Becker AI Chatbot is here! Becker CPA released a beta version of its NEWT Chatbot to select students. If you are a Becker student and signed up to beta test the new chatbot via the survey sent in February 2025, you can now use it to clarify CPA Exam questions and concepts.

While NEWT (and any AI) may contain errors, Becker students have reported that the new chatbot tool has helped them with their prep, accurately applying concepts, and improving some students’ reasoning skills.

Where Can CPA Candidates Access the New Chatbot?

Becker CPA students can access NEWT through multiple-choice questions (MCQs) or task-based simulations (TBSs). Beta students have mentioned that it is not yet available during other study tools in the Becker course, such as videos, textbooks, and practice exams.

Does the Chatbot Replace Human Contact?

Don’t worry, CPA candidates! If you still need support from a real person, you can ask Becker AI a question, and from there, you will receive an answer. Under the AI-provided answer, you’ll have the option to contact Becker support.

Why Are Beta Students Loving the Becker AI Chatbot So Far?

Students are most excited about the level of detail provided in NEWT. In Becker’s standard MCQ explanation, the online system offers succinct text to explain the answer. However, you can receive granular levels of information using the AI tool NEWT. You can keep asking follow-up answers until you understand why the solution is correct (and why the incorrect solutions are incorrect).

Feedback from CPA Candidates Who Have Used NEWT

  • “Newt was my best friend and probably the best tool in helping me learn. Basically used it like a gpt tutor.” We’re happy to see the tool helping candidates in real time!
  • “Very impressed with Becker’s new AI tool, Newt. I’m using it to clarify answers to MCQs and understand the reasoning behind the correct answer. I can also tweak some details and ask a what-if scenario (like from a c corp to an s corp) to understand different rules. No more copying and pasting to Chatgpt and then having to explain it why the answer it is given me is wrong. Love you Newt”

Final Thoughts About NEWT

Tools like this were not around when I took the CPA Exam, and I am excited that students have access to more accounting help than ever. Please comment if you’ve tried the new AI chatbot; we’d love your feedback!
