Gleim is now the second CPA review system to move their AI-powered study tool from the beta stage into its student CPA courses with the launch of its AI tool called Prep Pal.
Gleim Prep Pal is the latest course update from Gleim CPA Review. Prep Pal is an AI study tool that allows CPA candidates to get real-time feedback on concepts they do not understand.
We asked Gleim Prep Pal to summarize the Basic Earnings per share (BEPS) calculation. Additionally, we asked for the tool to define “continuing operations.”
In Prep Pal, you must select a portion of the digital textbook text and then highlight a passage to ask Prep Pal about. Prep Pal can define, summarize, give an example, paraphrase, and identify key points.
Candidates will likely find Prep Pal helpful overall, and Gleim will make improvements and changes to the tool over time, as they do with all their products. One such change I hope to see is a way to ask any question you like.
Additionally, Gleim Prep Pal doesn’t appear in the test bank; therefore, you cannot ask questions about problems you are confused about. You can only access Prep Pal in the subunit’s outline at the time of this writing.
Currently, candidates who have purchased the Premium Pro version of Gleim CPA review will find the AI-powered study tool already in their course. Gleim Prep Pal just exited the beta stage, which is live and available for Premium Pro users to use!
You can access Prep Pal by selecting a subunit and then reading the outline; this option appears under the video lectures.
Thankfully, no! We understand that not everyone feels comfortable using AI support systems; sometimes, a human touch is preferable. Additionally, Gleim CPA designed their instant AI course feature to give candidates quick answers to their questions, especially ones containing technical CPA content.
Gleim is committed to customer service, and CPA candidates can still contact their Personal Counselors and Accounting Experts for help.
If your question is something like, “Why is unearned income a liability? I don’t understand why I’m crediting Unearned Income when I receive a cash payment for a service I haven’t yet earned,” you’ll want to ask the accounting experts for help, as you cannot ask Prep Pal any open-ended questions.
However, if your question concerns setting up your study plan and you want to discuss CPA Exam deadlines and how they fit into your schedule, you should contact your Personal Counselor.
Similarly, suppose you’re reading the subunit’s outline, and you come across challenging material. Prep Pal can undoubtedly handle defining, providing an example, or paraphrasing to bring you further clarity.
If you need immediate help, Prep Pal will help you in real time. You won’t have to wait for anyone to contact you.
What’s more, you can ask Prep Pal to explain topics differently by using the paraphrasing feature (or asking for an example). Here are a few more reasons to utilize Prep Pal:
No. The team at Gleim includes Prep Pal in their CPA Premium Pro course, which also provides Access Until You Pass®, private study groups, 11,500+ MCQs, a brand new video series, and more.
Have you used any CPA review course AI features yet? We’d love your feedback. Please leave a comment with your experience!
