Center for Educational Documentation (CED): Pros and Cons

CED Center for Educational DocumentationThe Center for Educational Documentation (CED) was established in 1976. It is an independent agency and collaborates with major organizations that provide professional services in the interpretation of educational credentials for people who studied abroad.

They do statements of educational equivalency for colleges, universities, professional associations, government agencies, and public school systems.

CED is NOT a member of NACES, but a member of AACRAO and NAFSA.

Cons

  • Only accepted by the state accounting board in Massachusetts
  • Only original or official copies are accepted

Note from CED:

CED always informs applicants if a particular requirement is not being met before completing any evaluation.

Submission Details

The documents needed to prepare an evaluation depend on the purpose and use of the evaluation, but generally include the following. Only original, or clear and legible official copies of documents should be submitted.

Certified English translations must be provided together with the documents written in other languages. CED can offer in-house translation from Spanish/Portuguese to English with an extra fee.

Turnaround Time

  • Regular processing time is about 7 working days
  • 1-2 and 4-5 day rush services are available

  • Evaluation for CPA Exam application: $190
  • Change from Standard Evaluation to CPA Evaluation: $125

Rush Services (additional to evaluation fees):

  • 1-2 working days: $150
  • 4-5 working days: $50
