Hi Stephanie,
I hope you are doing good. First of all Congratulations on making such a wonderfull website. Its very informative and I praise you for your work. I want some advice if you can help me. I live in Virginia but I have completed my education in Pakistan. I want to be a CPA to practice in VA. I have got my degree evaluated and I am equivalent to US Bachelors in Finance. I want your advice on how to start as I have not studied any Finance subject since 2006. Which review course you would recomend to me. I want to start form the basics. Any Other advice would be appreciated. Many Thanks.
Hi Awais,
Thanks for your note! As someone who is a non-accounting major and managed to pass in one go, I don’t think you need to go back to the accounting books for this test. Instead, jump right into one of the CPA exam review courses and get it done with!
Here is the pros and cons of top 10 CPA exam review courses. Hope you find it useful, and all the best! Stephanie
Hi Stephanie!
I found your website very helpful. I am still in the process of applying for the exam….and I just wanted to note something on here about their educational requirements. There are 3 classes they specify that you must have. One of them is Managerial or Cost Account. I’ve met all of the requirements and took a level 200 Managerial Accounting course. However, the board said that because it was not an “upper-level” course, I am ineligible to sit. Now I must wait until I complete my graduate level Cost Accounting class in May before I am eligible according to the VA board….and I had to pay their nonrefundable fee to find this out. So just wanted to throw that info out there.
