In Missouri, CPAs need 120 hours of continuing education every 3 years. Furthermore, CPAs must report their credits at the time of license renewal, which also occurs every 3 years by June 30.

Specific Requirements

  • As of January 1, 2020, CPAs now need to accumulate at least 40 hours per year
  • At least 2 hours in ethics per year (6  hours per reporting period)
  • All CPE hours can come from self-study courses
  • Self-study courses must be from a board-approved sponsor (including those on the NASBA National Registry of CPE Sponsors)
  • The board places a restriction on the number of hours that can be accumulated from publishing books and articles
